Sales is a tough job. You need to be persistent, have a great attitude, be able to change your approach on a dime, and not take “no” for an answer, all the while being helpful and educational. You also need to be able to handle rejection, and let it roll right off your back. This is absolutely not a job for the faint of heart or an inexperienced person looking to “take a swing” at it.
We are actively looking for sales professionals that are willing to put in whatever it takes to get the job done, that have the experience to prove that they can get the job done and close those deals.
It is imperative that not only do you have experience selling, but selling to the service industries (hospitality, health & wellness, B2B services, etc). It is highly likely that you will never sell a thing outside of your sphere of influence, and that’s perfectly ok. An intimate understanding of these business owners ways of doing business, the industries’ nuances, and buying patterns will be critical to your success.
Our compensation structure is not unique, but it is generous. With rare exception, we require all of our clients to enter into annual contracts with us, to be paid on a monthly basis. Your compensation is a strictly commission-only payment, which is a generous percentage of each sale on an ongoing basis with a large payment up front.
Your days will be spent:
- Prospecting
- Researching
- Pre-qualifying
- Networking
- Finding in-roads
- Calling for appointments
- Confirming appointments
- Giving sales presentations
- Closing deals
- Collecting payment information
- Explaining and educating on expectations
Our average annual contracts range in value from a little to quite a lot. This depends on the businesses targeted, location, services retained and expectations of the client. As the business development specialist, it will be your responsibility to ensure that each client does not sign up for too little, and as importantly, does not sign up for too much. We value service and ethics as a major component in a client relationship. It is vital that you do too.
In the business development role, you will be required to attend mandatory staff meetings, seminars and workshops that address your specific sales area. Continuing education is an important aspect that separates our company from the rest. Product knowledge is key and will grow as you grow with us.
We are looking for someone (or a few people) that will be interested in starting with a smaller company in a self-starter environment. As our company is smaller, there is little opportunity to receive hand holding and regular accountability check-ins. This is your responsibility and we have very high expectations of the right person in this role.
We provide the following sales tools:
- Lists when they become available to us and have been pre-screened by operations team
- Sales presentation/proposal
- Bargaining tools
- Agreements
If you read carefully, you’ll notice that we don’t supply leads. Our leads are highly targeted and are very specific. We don’t call anyone and everyone, we are very selective about who we work with. As such, we actually have stiff criteria to which they must meet before we’ll call prospects. Thusly, we end up closing more sales, wasting less time, and having a client base that continues to do business with us long after the initial annual agreement expires. The tools listed above will give you more than enough to do the job and close deals.
To be eligible for this position, you must meet this base criteria:
- Experience selling to one of the disciplines mentioned above
- 2+ years of experience selling with a proven track record of success that you can share with us in detail
- Have an excellent positive attitude that rarely flickers
- You must have attended some college
- You must have your own form of reliable transportation
- You must have your own cell phone and laptop
Applicants that possess additional experience in Internet marketing are preferred.
Think you can do this and make some good money? Prove it. Treat us like your first sale. Make it happen and show us why we need to hire you. And no, much like a client, we will not be making it easy for you. That’s the point.
Show us your chops.
