You can expect a minimum of 3 interviews, each lasting anywhere from 1 to 2 hours, and homework during and between the interviews. We call every single reference, and carefully scrutinize every resume, work sample and cover letter. We want the very best (wouldn’t you?)!
So you’re prepared, here’s what we look for:
- A consistently positive attitude
- Intimate knowledge of the company
- Dedication to Vision Advertising
- Ability to do the job for which you’re applying
- Experience helps, and depending on the position applied for, sometimes it’s required
- Stellar references where they rave about how amazing you are, and are borderline prepared to threaten us with bodily harm if we don’t hire you
- Commitment to getting the work done, not leaving precisely at 5:00
- Teachable mindset
- Pleasant and collaborative personality
- A sense of humor
And you should also know why we won’t hire you:
- A “me, me, me” attitude
- A priority over what you stand to gain from vs. give to the company
- Showing up late, unprepared, or dressed sloppily
- Having a negative attitude, or just general negative energy
- Not having good references, or they just say that you’re “good” or some other banal thing
- Having no clue how to do the job you’re applying for
- Lying during the interview (yes, we’ll catch you)
- Not taking direction and criticism during the homework section of the interview process
- Typos all over your resume, cover letter or work samples (this includes grammatical errors)
I can just hear it now… you’re either thinking to yourself “Man, these people are crazy! Who do they think they are?” –OR– you’re thinking “Wow, I’ll fit right in! I can’t wait to apply!”
