2020 has been one hell of a year, so we’ve been looking forward to the 2020 Worcester Business Journal’s Book of Lists as one of the few rays of sunshine in an otherwise difficult year. The WBJ did not disappoint, with Vision ranking as a 10 Top Marketing Agency of Central Massachusetts and – in a new category – the Top 50 Women-Owned Businesses of Central Mass! This is a perfect time to talk about how much these awards mean to us and talk about the hurdles we’ve had to overcome this year.
What the Book of Lists Is and Why It Matters
The Worcester Business Journal has been publishing the Book of Lists for over 20 years now, a snapshot of the state of the economy and business each year. And just like it hasn’t been for us, 2020 is no ordinary year for the book and the companies it represents. Not only is it a chilling reminder of all the businesses we’ve lost since 2019, many in recent months, but also how we’ve come together as a community to try and help the most vulnerable. This year the WBJ included women-owned, veteran-owned, and LGBTQ-owned business categories, as well as labor unions for better representation.

How 2020 Has Been for Vision Advertising
What makes these top-rankings sweeter yet for Vision is all the personal adversity we’ve experienced this year. Like with many businesses, we’ve been impacted by COVID-19, namely through how the virus has changed how some of our clients do business. We’ve worked with many to make sure they have the resources available by local communities as well as building new business strategies to pivot their companies. Shortly after the pandemic was full swing in the United States, our COO Julia Becker Collins was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and is currently undergoing treatment.
Thanks again to the WBJ for highlighting Vision as a top marketing agency in this year’s Book of Lists. We continue to strive to be worthy of these accolades. If you’re looking to work with a marketing agency proud to be in Central Mass and committed to helping clients – full or DIY – to make it through 2020, contact us. We’d love to talk.
