Social media marketing is a powerful tool for any business, but it can become easy to focus solely on social media to the detriment of all your other marketing efforts. This is a topic discussed by co-hosts Julia and Laura in the podcast episode The Real Questions About Marketing No One Wants to Ask. Today, we’re going to explore two options to supercharge your social media marketing while also providing new marketing tools and avenues.
It’s Time to Vary Your Content Marketing
Even if you’re go all-in on social media, how do you expect that to translate into sales? You’re social media content needs to go somewhere. Instead of creating content that just lives on the platform, bolster your marketing (including your SEO and sales pipelines) with additional forms of content marketing:
- Blogs: Blogs are the PB to the J of social media, providing not only engaging articles and website traffic, but great SEO (if you know how to write them).
- Email Signups: If you’ve got a big social media following, think about getting them to sign up for email marketing, from promos to newsletters.
- Podcast: A podcast or video series can provide snippets and cross-links on your social media platforms and bring users to other platforms to listen in.
- Upload Your Content Elsewhere: If you’re uploading videos or images (especially infographics), consider uploading them elsewhere, such as YouTube or your website for additional backlinks.
Make Better Landing Pages for Social Media Customers
If you’re starting to get good engagement on social media, what are you doing with it? By building custom landing pages on your website for specific calls to action on social media (including running ads), you can better bridge the gap between social media and your website, making for better lead generation and avoiding poor performance metrics like bounce rate (when users visit a single page before leaving your site).
