Every year, the Worcester Business Journal recognizes outstanding women in business in Central Massachusetts. They are honored both for their impact in the business landscape through growing revenue, launching products, mentoring, and founding new, exciting organizations, and for their impact on communities through education, volunteering, and advocating. Each year for the last 18 years, the WBJ has selected women as exemplars of these values, and this year, Julia Becker Collins—Chief Operating Officer of Vision—is one of them.
Who is Julia Becker Collins?
As the COO of Vision, Julia runs day-to-day operations of the marketing agency, working with both employees and clients to meet marketing needs. She wears many other hats as well, including working as HR to help with employee work/life integration, marketing Vision through our enVisioning Success podcast and events, and sales to continue growing our company.
Beyond Vision, Julia is an avid runner and ultramarathoner (including running the Boston Marathon for Brigham and Women’s Hospital), trail runner, and a big fan of everything CrossFit. She is a current board member and Budget Committee Chair of the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts; Vice President, Communications Committee & Governance Committee Chair for the Worcester Area League; and an active volunteer for WhyMe/Sherry’s House, raising $10,000+ for families facing childhood cancer.
Why She Was Nominated for This Award
Like her fellow nominees, Julia was nominated and won this award not only for her outstanding work in business, but also for her mentorship of employees and her work in the community. She has helped build her clients’ businesses not only in marketing but in business strategy, from navigating COVID (including Vision) to exit plans. Julia has been a wellspring of education for the community, including articles, webinars, and seminars, and has contributed to events for the Center for Women & Enterprise and articles for the Worcester Business Journal.
