As a marketing agency, we know all about the value of awards for your own marketing, so we’d be remiss if we didn’t highlight the following marketing award Vision Advertising just got! We’re very honored to be listed in the Worcester Business Journal as one of their top 10 “Advertising, Marketing & Communications Firms” in the area—for the sixth year running! Read on for a bit more about the Worcester Business Journal’s list and why Vision has won this award since 2018, as well as for a look back on what in 2022 helped us earn this accolade.
Worcester Business Journal and Vision Advertising’s Award
For over 20 years, the Worcester Business Journal has been publishing these lists across all major industries in the Central Massachusetts area, both individually in their regular publication (here) and compiled in their yearly Book of Lists. That also includes women-owned, veteran-owned, and LGBTQ-owned business categories, as well as labor unions for better representation, and we’ve been in those in the past as well. We’ve even been moving up in the lists (last year we were 9th, now we’re 8th)! It’s been a while since we last talked about the WBJ’s Book of Lists—back in 2021 with our last blog post on it—so there’s some catching up to do.
Looking Back on 2022 for Vision
When we say it’s been an eventful year, thankfully we’re only talking about good news this year! While 2021 was all about pivoting and adjusting to the new normal, 2022 was about accelerating—including some great in-person events.
Julia Becker Collins Speaking Events
Our COO Julia Becker Collins joined Marcie Giannattasio and Carolyn Wynn for their marketing panel, “Use Your Most Powerful Tool—Your Brand,” at the inaugural Central Mass Conference for Women hosted by She’s Local (pictures here). She also continued to produce webinars with the Center for Women and Enterprise of Central MA, helping local women entrepreneurs get the resources they need; you can search their on-demand catalog here (requires free registration).
Vision’s Webinars
Of course, we also continued our own webinars, Vision’s Business Bootcamps. 2022 saw a lot of great marketing advice on a variety of topics, from social media to graphic design. Speaking of both of those, our Communications Manager Catrina Gardner stepped up to do many more of these this year as Julia worked on the CWE workshops mentioned above—big props to her!
New Hires and Internships
2022 was also a year for new faces at Vision. We were very excited to bring on Dominique Goyette-Connerty as a Marketing Specialist with a focus on PR and content writing (plus client management, social media, and other hats)! We restarted our internship program following its brief hiatus for the COVID-19 pandemic. Vision’s internship program is now fully remote and being managed entirely by Catrina. Learn about the experience of transitioning to a remote internship format from one of the interns in this blog: Remote Internship: Anywhere, Anytime.
Thanks again to the WBJ for highlighting Vision as a top marketing agency (and for previous accolades in their yearly Book of Lists, such as a top women-owned business) We’re always looking to improve and be worthy of these accolades. If you’re looking to work with a marketing agency proud to be in Central Mass and committed to helping clients, contact us. We’d love to talk.
